Most open the weekend before Thanksgiving (November 20–21). Lil' Grandfather opens Thanksgiving Day, November 26. Long's Tree Farm and Shady Rest Tree Farm both open the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Stay for the season
Plan ahead for Thanksgiving and Christmas weekends. Families who want more than one cabin can look at the group cabins: four A-frames on one mountainside, with room for 22.
Long's Tree Farm

Lil' Grandfather Choose & Cut
Lil' Grandfather Mountain Christmas Tree Farm is at 15371 NC Hwy 18 South, Laurel Springs, NC 28644. The farm offers choose-and-cut Fraser fir, white pine, and blue spruce, along with wreaths, roping, and baskets. The site also lists hay rides and horse rides. It opens Thanksgiving Day. In 2026 that is November 26–29 and December 5–6.
Mistletoe Meadows
Mistletoe Meadows offers choose-and-cut at 270 Mistletoe Meadows Parkway, Laurel Springs, NC 28644. The farm grows Fraser fir, white pine, blue spruce, and Leyland cypress, and it sells wreaths.
Shady Rest Tree Farm
Shady Rest Tree Farm is at 287 Trading Post Road, Glendale Springs, NC 28629. The farm offers choose-and-cut Fraser fir, Nordmann fir, and white pine, plus wreaths and garland made on the farm. Day's Choose & Cut
Day's Choose & Cut is at 398 Park Vista Road, West Jefferson. In 2026 it is open November 21–22 and 26–29, and December 5–6, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
C and J Christmas Trees
C and J Christmas Trees is at 1166 NC-194, Todd. It opens November 14, Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
